Dear Global Village Alumni,
The date for our gathering in this 2008 GV Reunion is getting close. As you may know, this event program was posted on the GVN website and on facebook in November. You can access to this information by a simple click on the following link: http://www.gvnetwork.info/Peru_reunion_2008.ppt
The 2008 GV Reunion Committee wants to thank our last EB President, Catharina Bratt, and the whole past EB for their concern on the preparation and communication of our event. Also, we take this opportunity to congratulate the recently elected EB. We are absolutely sure that we could keep up the good work on this and serve to the best interests of the Alumni.
In order to obtain your full participation we will be sending you complete information about the 2008 GV Reunion. We strongly recommend you to read carefully this and future communications so we can help you get through the small problems you could have and get you all to Peru this year.
1.- How much do we need to invest to come to Peru this August?
We have reach a reasonable cost of 693 USD by Villager, based on 2 and 3 beds hotel rooms in a *** (3 stars) hotel. We are working our best to keep every Villager together for both, Lima and Cusco experiences. In order to ensure this we will need your confirmation as soon as possible. (To find out about deadlines please go to the fifth point of this communication).
2.- Visa matters
As for the visa concern, Peru has signed several International Agreements that allow citizens from many Counties to travel to Peru without a tourist visa. In the following link you'll see the list of those Countries that requires a tourist visa and those that don't: http://consuladoperu.com/archivos/visaextranjeros.htm
If your Country has not a Peruvian Representation, you'll have to find the one that is the most
convenient for you (keep in mind that this will be the one route you'll take for your trip to Peru. So, maybe you'd want to check out air fares first). To help you on your search, we provide you this link with the list of all the Peruvian Representations on the world: http://www.rree.gob.pe/portal/misrree.nsf/B4EA6179F4DD8AA705256E190072AD04
If needed, we could (and will) provide letters of recommendations solicited by any of this representations.
*We want to remark that there are ongoing situations where this letter has been required for the reunion and the deadlines establish by some representations are very severe. So, please find about your particular situation and let us know how we can help you on this process*
3.- Hotels
Finding hotels was and is a very exciting job because of the small requirements we have built for
your best accommodation. As we mentioned before we will be staying in a 3 stars hotel. You'll see in the following list the hotels where the negotiation is been held:
• Bruce hotel (www.brucehotel.com)
• Hotel El Ducado (http://www.ducado.pe/web/content/view/27/50/lang,en/)
• Hotel Las Palmas (http://www.hotellaspalmas.com/rooms.html)
In Cusco, we all will be staying in the Hotel Casa Andina or similar (http://www.casa-andina.com/peru_hotels/cusco_hotels-1-3.htm)
4.- How to pay?
You can book your space right now by doing one of the following things.
1. Bank deposit
Bank name: Banco de Crédito del Perú
Account number: 193-15765708-0-56.
SWIFT: BCPLPEPL
Adress: Calle Centenario 156, La Molina
2. Credit card
Right now you can make it by an email request. We are using the PayPal system. Please contact us to gvreunion08@gmail.com for this matters.
*Please note that whichever way you choose to pay, it is important that you send us an email to
confirm your payment*.
5.- Deadline
Since every program needs deadlines regarding the reservation for hotel rooms and planning variable costs. We had outcome with a reasonable final date for the reservation of the program.
This needs to be done before April, 15th 2008. For farther information, please contact us to our email account.
6.- When should I book my flight?
We recommend doing it as soon as possible because August is one of the peak months regarding tourism. Also if you buy your ticket ahead of time it normally becomes a lot cheaper than the regular prices. The same with the plane tickets to Cuzco (departure date: August 20th). If you need any additional information regarding to your tickets to Lima or to Cuzco do not hesitate to contact us.

Our communications will be always sent by the current EB on our behalf and we'll keep posting on facebook and on the GVN website, in order to never lose contact with you.
